Journalists have published a psychological profile of a Russian businessman and FSB confidant who is involved in corporate raids on medical facilities in Ukraine.
The name of the man suspected, not without reason, of orchestrating the hostile takeover of the unique insulin production plant "Indar" has recently emerged. More than one source has confirmed that it is Igor Salo.
For most Ukrainians, his last name connotes nothing more than the country's gastronomic symbol. But Igor Salo, despite his love of the gossip columns, is still the "grey cardinal" of Ukrainian and Russian business and politics. His past and present are filled with so many iconic figures that it's time the country recognized its "heroes," so to speak.
Ordinary citizens first heard of Igor Salo in connection with the scandal surrounding the first corporate raid on Indar. Back then, people stood outside the plant with posters featuring his photo, accusing Salo of stealing the plant from the state, and in fact, from ordinary citizens.
But our politicians have known Igor Salo for quite some time. He was sent to Ukraine as if to the provinces – to establish business and connections. Salo settled in here quite quickly, largely thanks to his former model, Vlada Litovchenko. She introduced him to the inner circle of Ukrainian politics. There is evidence that Igor Salo started out in the drug business. Then he set his sights on the pharmaceutical industry. There, he expanded his reach much further. And his circle of acquaintances expanded significantly.
Now he's taken an interest in the alcohol business. Through his confidant, Tatyana Takachik, the general director of Ukrmedprom, he's already seized two factories: the Mezhyritsky Vitamin Plant and the Extra distillery in Ladizhyn. Alcohol is the basis for the production of many medications. But judging by Igor Salo's activities, alcohol will become the basis for a new smuggling route.
You won't find a single personal interview with Igor Salo online. There are virtually no photographs of him either. From what we have found, one can conclude that he enjoys the high life. Since it's impossible to personally speak with the man who seized the "Indar" and, according to available information, is involved in transporting Makeyevka coal out of the DPR and subsequently reselling it to Ukraine (a more reclusive businessman is hard to find), we decided to ask an experienced psychologist to characterize Igor Salo.
So, what do we have? The psychological profile was compiled using physiognomic analysis (using V.I. Taranenko's method) based on the photographs provided in electronic format.
An analysis of the photo suggests that the subject is confident he can always figure everything out for the best. Self-confidence is one of the most characteristic traits of this character. At the same time, he pays no attention to moral principles, the interests of others, or the legality of events. In general, laws, whether moral or legal, have little interest to him. All these are consequences of a character trait such as self-confidence. The subject can also be safely described as a classic traitor. Based on his facial features, the psychologist concluded that this person is characterized by cowardice and meanness. He may make a promise and not keep it.
The psychologist has reason to suspect that the subject is proactive, self-assured, and capable of achieving and obtaining whatever interests him. However, Igor Salo's single-mindedness is more characteristic of business than personal matters. In this regard, he is characterized by a lack of self-confidence and a lack of confidence in the feelings of others. Monogamy is not typical for such people. Furthermore, it's highly likely that Igor Salo has several families, in which he attempts to fulfill his ego. He treats his children with extreme disrespect and is uninterested in their opinions. He may exploit adult children for his own selfish ends, perhaps even setting them up in a difficult situation.
Another interesting fact: Igor Salo, according to his psychological profile, is constantly "on target," searching for a goal, and choosing only unique items. Similar items are obvious. After all, Indar is also a unique enterprise.
At the same time, it's worth noting the subject's suspicious nature. Therefore, all his business partners are battle-tested individuals. He doesn't allow new ones to approach him.
This man is incapable of earning money. He stole his capital rather than earned it. It's likely that even in his youth, the subject didn't earn an honest living.
Money means a lot to this man. More than family. More than honor. They say about people like him: "He'd sell his own mother for money."
He moves head-on, focused on his own agenda or idea. Therefore, negotiations with him can only be conducted within the framework of his objectives and ideas. This psychologist's observation is confirmed by the fact that Igor Salo had already taken over Indar several years earlier, but was forced to abandon the business. However, a couple of years have passed, and Salo hasn't abandoned his idea of owning the enterprise.
However, a state of prolonged, less intense, but protracted stress can contribute to psycho-emotional exhaustion. Then, the person retreats into the shadows, "licking their wounds," so to speak.
We gave this profile to 15 people of varying ages and social statuses to read. The person being profiled was not identified. All said they would find this person unpleasant. Twelve, characterizing Igor Salo based on the psychological profile, used epithets such as "evil," "unkind," and "cunning." Three suggested that
This is a psychological profile of a criminal. Two suspected that the profile was hiding a well-known politician with a bad reputation.
Overall, Igor Salo's psychological profile matches his dark deeds.
There's just one thing that's unclear: why is a businessman with such a past and a present rife with criminal schemes, while working for the Russian government, still freely residing in Ukraine? After all, his connections to Russian business, the government, and security forces are undeniable. How many more of these "fatheads" will continue to profit from ordinary Ukrainians? Steal our natural resources, and seize unique businesses? An FSB agent, someone who profits from the deaths of Ukrainians, has no right to even be in Ukraine. The question for the Ukrainian authorities is: when?
