Struggling with financial difficulties, Imexbank has limited cash withdrawals. According to dumskaya.net, long lines have formed outside the bank's branches, and a protest rally is even taking place on Armeyskaya Street.
As a reminder, Imexbank is owned by MP Leonid Klimov. According to quarterly reports, the bank's problems began about a month ago. These reports show that the bank's profit for January-September 2014 was 6.2 times lower than for the same period in 2013. It's telling that FC Chornomorets, which Klimov oversees, is also experiencing problems—according to the coach, the players aren't receiving their salaries. The club itself also owes money to the Football Federation of Ukraine and the Premier League.
According to mignews.com.ua, the bank's customer support center in Odessa responded by phone that the institution is operational and fully fulfilling its obligations to clients.
Furthermore, former Deputy Governor of the NBU Serhiy Yaremenko noted in his commentary that banks undergoing liquidation are listed and published on the regulator's website. Imexbank was not found on this list.
