The accusation of attempted bribery made by Radical Party MP Oleh Lyashko against his fellow Opposition Bloc member Nestor Shufrych is unlikely to be investigated. This opinion was expressed by politician and several-term Verkhovna Rada MP Taras Chornovil, commenting on the conflict within the Verkhovna Rada.
"It's clear this can't lead to anything. This information is an open secret. It's been discussed a lot in the political arena," he said, according to ForUm.
In addition, Chornovil added that “Lyashko is now a representative of the coalition, and Shufrych is a particularly odious representative of the opposition.”
"There will be no consequences other than shaking the air with verbal waves and a few punches to each other," he concluded.
As a reminder, MP Oleh Lyashko accused his fellow Opposition Bloc member Nestor Shufrych of attempted bribery and asked that his statement be considered a report of a crime to the Prosecutor General. Shufrych, in turn, stated that Lyashko himself had asked for between $3 and $5 million, which was denied.
