The country could lose millions of hryvnias in debt to the state-owned Ukreximbank. This was stated by Iryna Suslova, a member of the parliamentary non-governmental organization "Deputy Control," during a briefing in Parliament.
Since the mid-2000s, the state-owned bank had been a creditor of one of the largest domestic pharmaceutical companies, VVS-LTD LLC, founded by Yaroslav Korolevich and Igor Kitskaya. However, this powerful enterprise owed its creditors a significant amount, including over UAH 900 million to Ukreximbank. Subsequently, with its debt to the state-owned bank, the company was liquidated.
The people's deputy noted that, despite being millions in debt, Korolevich and Kitskaya's company transferred all operational activities to its legal successor, ABC Logistic Park LLC. However, the legal successor also failed to fulfill its creditor obligations to its business partners, specifically failing to repay a UAH 244 million debt to Ukreximbank.
"If the company doesn't pay this debt, the state will lose millions of hryvnias. Furthermore, it's surprising that bank officials extended the loan to a company that offered no guarantees of repayment," noted Irina Suslova.
The corruption scheme was brought to fruition thanks to the bank's former management (V.A. Rudoy, G.A. Golosenin, V.V. Kononykhina, and V.V. Fursov) and the heads of ABC Logistic Park LLC, who used their powers for their own gain.
"Members of the 'Deputy Control' have already sent an appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office, asking them to immediately take personal control of this case and ensure a thorough, comprehensive, and objective investigation," noted Vadim Rudenko, Chairman of the NGO and Head of the Secretariat of the Inter-Factional Association.
