Anti-corruption law enforcement agencies have decided to open the investigation materials to the defense of the head of the state-owned plant, writes Word and deed.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) have completed their investigation into allegations that Sergei Filonenko, director of the state-owned Izyum Instrument-Making Plant and a member of the Izyum City Council in Kharkiv Oblast, made false declarations and received improper benefits.

«NABU detectives and SAP prosecutors have completed their investigation into allegations that the director of the state instrument-making plant (part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern) received UAH 2,44 million in unlawful benefits and failed to declare real estate abroad. The individual's actions were classified under Part 4 of Article 368 and Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. On November 23, 2022, the case materials were opened for review by the defense."," the department reports.
As a reminder, the NABU and SAPO notified Filonenko of suspicion of false declarations and receiving improper benefits. The investigation established that the director of the state-owned enterprise received an improper benefit (kickback) of more than UAH 2,44 million from individuals associated with Optimumspetsdetal LLC between September 2016 and January 2017 to conceal fraudulent payments for the delivery of goods intended for the benefit of the said company.
Furthermore, NABU and SAPO obtained evidence that the suspect failed to disclose information about his wife's apartment in Bulgaria in the asset declaration filed by a person authorized to perform state or local government functions for 2020. The value of this property on the date of its registration in 2020 was approximately UAH 1,33 million (at the official NBU exchange rate). Filonenko was placed under preventive measures.
