The Cabinet of Ministers liquidated the National Joint Stock Company "Energy Company of Ukraine"

The Cabinet of Ministers, by its resolution, liquidated the National Joint Stock Company "Energy Company of Ukraine" and transferred the shareholdings of the energy companies that were part of the NJSC to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.
As noted in the resolution posted on the government's website, the liquidation commission's term of office should not exceed 5 months.
According to the resolution, the liquidation commission was headed by Sergei Drobot, General Director of the State Concern Nuclear Fuel.
In addition, according to the government decision, 78,29% of the shares of the company "Centrenergo", 60,06% of the shares of the company "Luganskoblenergo", 87,4% of the shares of the company "Dniester Pumped Storage Plant" were transferred to the control of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.
NAK Energy Company of Ukraine is a shareholder in 20 fuel and energy companies that produce and supply electricity, which accounts for approximately one-third of the total electricity generated by the Unified Energy System of Ukraine.
In January-August 2014, NAK reduced electricity production by 3,2% compared to the same period last year, to 39,3 billion kWh.
