«Without the consent of the Kyiv Forestry Authority, the entire area has already been divided into 67 plots of land, which will be illegally sold for cottages. This will also destroy a large forest area, including the future Geonavt Cave Nature Reserve., — noted the Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center.

It was the Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center that created the Geonavt Cave nature reserve. Activists note that Geonavt Cave is the only natural cave in the Kyiv region. The Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Center is preparing a lawsuit against the illegal land seizure.

The organization also added that four court cases are currently underway in Kyiv to protect the newly established Troyeshchyna Meadows nature reserve from raiders.

Activists also recently won a court case in defense of the Belotserkovsky (Fastovsky) forestry enterprise and the 267-hectare "Urochische Unava" nature reserve from raiders.

As a reminder, a group of individuals in Kyiv is suspected of appropriating a recreational area on Trukhanov Island, opposite the city's historic center. Among the suspects in the land appropriation scheme are the chairman of the Kyiv City Council of Trade Unions and a private notary. Forged documents enabled the fraudsters to illegally re-register state- and municipal-owned properties. The property in question is the Zenit sports center. A plot of land covering approximately six hectares on Trukhanov Island was also seized.

It was previously reported that Kyiv had successfully overturned the illegal registration of property rights to Obolonsky Island held by a private enterprise. The criminal investigation revealed that the Kyiv community could lose ownership of Obolonsky Island, located adjacent to Natalka Park and covering an area of ​​nearly 148 square meters.
