Former Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaly Kasko (Read more about it in the article Vitaly Kasko – a swindler, a corrupt official, a "shot-down pilot") was suspected of committing a crime right on the street by Prosecutor General's Office investigator Dmitry Sus. Following this incident, activists and members of parliament flocked to the scene where the suspicion had been received.
Serhiy Leshchenko wrote on Facebook that Prosecutor General's Office (GPU) investigator Sus is one of the heads of the GPU department, which was created two months ago at the insistence of the Presidential Administration and is supervised by Stolyarchuk. This department is personally supervised by MPs Ihor Kononenko and Oleksandr Granovsky.
Automaidan activist Oleksiy Gritsenko wrote on Facebook that Kasko was suspected on the evening of April 10 near a Kyiv theater.
As Kasko himself noted, unknown individuals were following him. After he left the Nova Kraina office, two individuals, claiming to be a prosecutor and an SBU officer, handed him a notice of suspicion near his car.
However, Kasko's lawyer, Yevhen Grushkovets, doesn't believe the notice of suspicion they attempted to serve on his client is legally binding. He told TV Channel 112 Ukraine that "unknown individuals wanted to hand him some kind of document, and when announcing the notice of suspicion, they failed to provide their authority."
As a reminder, the Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal investigation into fraud committed by Kasko. He is accused of illegally acquiring a service apartment and subsequently privatizing it. On March 22, Kyiv's Pechersky District Court seized the apartment following a request from former Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
