The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. They need somewhere to live…

A draft resolution has been published on the Kyiv City State Administration website, which provides for the allocation of 0,5 hectares of land to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, near the Kontraktova Ploscha metro station. This land will be allocated for the construction of new housing for members of parliament.

According to Nashi Groshi, it became known that in 1986, almost two hectares of land were allocated for the construction of a motor depot for the then Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR. However, after preparatory work and landslide prevention, the construction was mothballed due to a lack of funds.

Under the leadership of Leonid Chernovetskyi, Kyiv City State Administration deputies divided the land. 1,074 hectares were then given to the private firm VK-Brok for the construction of an administrative and residential complex. The remaining 0,85 hectares were allocated to Kyivmiskbud for residential development.

But since this was done without the permission of the Verkhovna Rada, then, according to the court decision, the land allocated to Kyivmiskbud was returned to the Kyiv City State Administration for “re-division.”

The plot of land allocated to the company "VK-Brok" was never returned, due to the fact that it went to the Austrian bank Erste Bank as collateral for a loan.
