MPs agreed to the arrest of Kireyev and other judges.
The Verkhovna Rada has given its consent to the detention and arrest of Pechersk Court judge Rodion Kireyev, as well as two other judges.
297 deputies voted for this.
"Considering that Kireyev is hiding from the investigation and his whereabouts could not be determined, the Prosecutor General requested that his motion be supported," Supreme Court Chairman Yaroslav Romanyuk said, speaking from the podium of the Verkhovna Rada.
The deputies also approved the arrest and detention of Andrei Rudyak, a judge of the Nikolaev Central District Court, who is suspected of premeditated murder. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
Separately, the Rada voted to detain and take into custody Mykola Bolotin, a judge of the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa.
The submission states that, according to the indictment, Bolotin, during the trial of the criminal case against R.M. Pahalovich, acting out of selfish motives, with the aim of personal enrichment, entered into a criminal conspiracy with his assistant Nozdrin to receive a bribe from R.M. Pahalovich for the release of the latter from criminal liability.
Bolotin demanded a bribe in the amount of 5000 US dollars.
As is known, in November 2014, People's Front MP and adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko stated that Judge Rodion Kireyev, who presided over Yulia Tymoshenko's case, was currently in Crimea.
