Kyiv residents claim a UDAR functionary is poisoning their lives (+ video)

Residents of a Kyiv apartment building have united against a local businessman. A dental clinic/workshop in the building's basement allegedly pollutes the air, creates a lot of noise, and creates general discomfort. Furthermore, it violates sanitary and epidemiological regulations and even operates illegally. However, this "business" is owned by none other than Kostiantyn Bedovoy, a personal friend of the Kyiv mayor and his political ally.

For several years now, "Dental Clinic No. 3" at 4 Antonova Street, located in the basement of this building, has been a nuisance to its upstairs neighbors. The official owner of this LLC is Konstantin Bedovoy, a member of the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky District Council of the sixth convocation representing the UDAR party, head of the local party branch, and a close friend of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Residents of the Khrushchev-era apartment complain of constant noise emanating from the basement, acidic odors seeping into their apartments through the windows, vibrations, general discomfort, and fine dust particles. Pensioners report high blood pressure and deteriorating health. They believe the underground workshop located below is to blame.
It appears the enraged residents even managed to obtain a report from the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service regarding numerous violations at this facility; the denture production facility lacks both lease documents and a ventilation installation and operating plan.

Kyiv residents have repeatedly gathered to picket their own basements, attempting to "promote" the issue in the media. Recently, Channel 17 took an interest in it.
However, the business owner believes otherwise, calling the protest campaign against him a "political hit job." In a comment to KV, Mr. Bedovoy called the complainants a "hit squad" and noted that he could provide signatures of actual residents of the building and all necessary documentation for the case at any time.

Bedovoy even managed to appeal to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko regarding the conflict. In his appeal, he blamed activist Iryna Prikhodko, who allegedly began "working for money" against him last year when she registered in an apartment at 4 Antonova Street. Since then, he claims, his business has been in turmoil.

"Almost every day, clinic workers fight back, barricade themselves, or defend themselves from the assault of I.V. Prikhodko's 'gang,' and participate in endless, unfounded government inspections of the clinic's operations," complains a successful businessman and member of the pro-government party to Petro Poroshenko.

Moreover, Mr. Bedovoy said that the activist Prikhodko's husband personally demanded that he buy the woman a three-room apartment in the capital, otherwise they would find the means and opportunity to destroy the "Klichkov retinue."

The head of Kyiv's Department of Housing and Public Utilities, Dmitry Novitsky, has also found himself caught up in the investigation. According to Bedovy, Novitsky tried to lobby for the closure of his clinic through his department "without any authority" in April of this year. Furthermore, he allegedly publicly told the clinic's employees that Klitschko himself had ordered him to liquidate Bedovy's business!

Mr. Novitsky himself completely denies his role and told KV that the case has no personal component, and there were and are no instructions from the Kyiv City State Administration regarding this case, and that it solely involves a conflict of interest.
