The Kyiv Armored Plant offered soldiers from the Azov Battalion the opportunity to purchase a used BTR-70 turret for the price of almost two used military vehicles. This was announced in a post on the Azov Battalion's Facebook page.
Azov fighters report that they approached the Kyiv Armored Vehicle Plant with a request to help repair damaged armored personnel carriers, hoping they would simply be given the spare parts, as they were not talking about entertainment, but about equipment for the defense of Ukraine.
When the official response from the state-owned enterprise arrived, the soldiers were "stunned." The Kyiv Armored Plant, a state-owned enterprise, was asking 257 hryvnias for a single used turret for a BTR-70 armored personnel carrier. Azov soldiers were outraged by such impudence and claimed that volunteers had previously purchased used APCs and BRDMs for the battalion's needs, all in working order, for 180 hryvnias, and the enterprise, which was supposed to repair the equipment for free, was trying to profit from the defenders of the homeland.
