Maxim Zubarev
Today, September 26, a regular session of the Melitopol City Council was disrupted by a group of provocateurs led by Communist Party deputy Maksym Zubarev. Several dozen masked, radical young men, led by Volodymyr Lyapin, deputy head of the Zaporizhzhia Right Sector, caused a disturbance at the city council session.
The main organizers of the scandal were communists, who, under the guise of radical forces, attempted to remove the current city council secretary, Serhiy Minko, from his post and thereby seize power in the city. The communists' initiative was also supported by the people of the notorious crime boss of the Party of Regions, Serhiy Valter, now suspended from office as Melitopol mayor. The aforementioned Vladimir Lyapin, in addition to leading the Right Sector, is also the disgraced mayor's personal lawyer.
Besides his ties to Walter and the Right Sector, Lyapin is known in Zaporizhzhia as one of the oprichniks of former overseer Yevgeny Anisimov, who was involved in siphoning off money from the now-legendary Srednyaya Balka, where more than one criminal kingpin made his fortune. But Lyapin's persona caused the greatest stir back in 2003, when this criminal element caused the deaths of two sons of the well-known Zaporizhzhia journalist Vyshinsky, Boris and Vadim, in a drunk driving accident.
Today, Lyapin has self-proclaimed himself the leader of radical movements in the Zaporizhzhia region and has teamed up with the communists to seize power in Melitopol. However, the communist coup failed. Local self-defense forces managed to thwart an attempt to disrupt the meeting. But even this didn't stop the provocateurs, and by a strange coincidence, the police received an anonymous call about a bomb threat to the city council building.
It's noteworthy that throughout the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, communist Zubarev was a central figure in Melitopol advocating for the "Russian World." In March, the communist vigorously campaigned for a referendum aimed at creating a separate Zaporizhzhia Federation, and by April, he was one of the organizers of the so-called "Russian Marches" and an open promoter of separatism.
No explosive substances were found during the inspection, but the perpetrators achieved their tactical goal – the session was disrupted. As a reminder, the Kyiv District Administrative Court is hearing a case to ban the Communist Party of Ukraine due to its anti-Ukrainian activities and involvement in separatism. Melitopol is located 200 km from the ATO zone, where armed clashes continue despite the declared ceasefire.

Now ask yourself: why are ideological separatists like communist Zubarev and criminal Party of Regions members Walter and Balitsky urgently trying to turn the tide in Melitopol, a border town, in their favor, when the main separatist forces are focused on seizing neighboring Mariupol?
The next question is: what are the SBU officers doing, who are supposed to nip in the bud this anti-Ukrainian activity, the results of which we see in the daily reports of fallen soldiers. And about our children, brothers, husbands, friends, and relatives. These separatists aren't just raising their heads in Melitopol; they're brazenly seeking power, holding ordinary citizens hostage to their own selfish interests.
