The media reported that the Ukrainian businessman's company Igor Mazepa finances militants in Donbass.

This is done through a system based on a network of mobile payment terminals. According to the X-Files project, Mazepa's company owns terminals from the Time network, which operates in the temporarily occupied territory. These terminals can be used to withdraw cash.

The SBU has already stated that it will try to understand this scheme, but no results have been presented so far.

It's worth noting that this isn't the first such incident. Security services previously seized servers from the 24nonstop payment terminal network on similar suspicions, which resulted in the network being taken offline for several days.

Igor Mazepa began his career at the Russian company Prospect Investments, and all of his subsequent significant professional achievements were in one way or another connected to Russia.

Mazepa launched the Ukrainian Exchange, as a competitor to the then-existing PFTS stock exchange, jointly with the Russian RTS exchange.

Not only does a Russian company control 49% of the shares of this strategic institution for the Ukrainian economy, but the Ukrainian Exchange even runs on Russian software.

Also during the war, Igor Mazepa became a member of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian subsidiary of Alfa-Bank.

In his typical sly manner, Mazepa described his appointment to the bank with Russian roots as "volunteering." And as his colleagues noted in an interview with Forbes, this "volunteering" was quite profitable for him.

Even after the outbreak of hostilities, Mazepa continued to advance highly controversial ideas about attracting maximum Russian capital to Ukraine, completely oblivious to the risks of such statements. At the same time, Igor Mazepa calls Ukraine's loss of Crimea a fait accompli and, instead of fighting, proposes fencing off the Ukrainian peninsula with customs posts.

At the same time, Mazepa insists in every way on Russia paying interest on the ill-fated loan that Yanukovych took out for the failure to join the EU, and which, ultimately, disappeared without a trace.
