As reported yesterday, the strike will only affect short- and medium-haul flights (including flights to and from Ukraine). Today, it was announced that passengers who purchased tickets for intercontinental flights will also be unable to fly from December 3rd to 2nd. Employees of Germany's largest airline, Lufthansa, have extended their protest to flights to other continents.
According to Deutsche Welle, nearly 1400 flights have been canceled, affecting approximately 150 passengers. However, airline representatives assured that more than half of these flights will operate. The list of canceled flights is published on the airline's website.
German pilots are striking because a new company regulation has raised the age limit for Lufthansa employees to receive their pensions.
Since April of this year, Lufthansa has cancelled around 6 flights due to strikes.
