TRAFIGURA plans to acquire 50% of WOG shares

trafiguraTRAFIGURA intends to acquire a 50% stake in WOG, a member of the Continuum Group. This was reported by Gazeta.Ua, citing its own sources within TRAFIGURA.

 

It is known that TRAFIGURA intends to acquire 50% of the WOG chain, which includes 500 gas stations across Ukraine. However, it is unknown whether the agreement includes the sale of the Kherson Oil Refinery stake.

 

It is also reported that sales negotiations have been ongoing for the past six months. The transaction amount, as well as the stake WOG intends to acquire, have not been disclosed. It is also unknown how the death of Igor Eremeev, one of WOG's founders, affected the negotiations.

 

As a reminder, WOG is part of the Continuum Group, which is owned by the late Igor Eremeev, as well as To Sergei Lagur, To Stepan Ivakhiv and Petro Dyminsky. As of 2014, WOG was ranked 12th among Ukraine's largest companies, with a turnover of approximately UAH 19 billion.

 

TRAFIGURA is one of the world's largest petroleum product trading firms. It operates gas stations in 45 countries and has offices in 67 countries. Its total turnover in 2014 exceeded $68 billion.
