Akhmetov's company sold $10 million worth of metal to the railway.

Following a tender, Rinat Akhmetov's company, Metinvest-SMC LLC, received an order to supply rolled metal products to the state-owned enterprise Ukrzaliznychpostach worth a total of UAH 235,96 million, according to the publication Nashi Groshi.

The state-owned company ordered galvanized thin sheet steel at a price of UAH 17,4 per ton. It also ordered thick carbon steel sheets at a price of UAH 12,5 per ton and thin carbon steel sheets at a price of UAH 15 per ton. Additionally, it ordered R-65 rails and 1Kb-65 separate fastening pads worth UAH 200 million. The rails cost UAH 24,384 per ton, and the pads cost UAH 28,234 per ton.

This isn't the first time Akhmetov's company has supplied products to the state-owned enterprise. In July 2015, Metinvest-SMC LLC supplied products worth a total of UAH 445,59 million to Ukrzaliznychpostach. Prices for the products were higher in July: rails cost UAH 26,22 per ton, and pads cost UAH 30,36 per ton. However, in January 2014, Ukrzaliznychpostach purchased the same rails from Akhmetov's company for UAH 10,756 per ton, and pads cost UAH 12,96 per ton.
