Veolia is being urged to leave Ukraine until the company ceases business in Russia.
The French-German concern Veolia, which is represented in Ukraine by the company Altvater Kyiv, continues to operate in Russia despite the introduction of Western sanctions.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Chairman of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities Oleg Popenko on Facebook.
"Most global companies have long since left the Russian market, but not Veolia, which even operates in Crimea, with a separate division called Altvater Crimea. Imagine a situation where the same company operates in Crimea, Kyiv, Ternopil, and Chernivtsi," the expert said.
In his opinion, the company should immediately leave the Russian market or leave Ukraine.
As a reminder, Veolia positions itself as a global leader providing a wide range of solutions related to waste, water and energy management.
In Ukraine and Russia, Veolia cooperates with utility companies. In Ukraine, the mayors of Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, and Chernivtsi have signed service contracts with Veolia.
In May, Veolia's management stated that despite sanctions imposed by most Western governments, does not plan to leave the Russian market. However, it is temporarily suspending new investments.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that France has launched an investigation into TotalEnergies' involvement in supplying fuel to the occupiers.
