Conflict at Stolichny Market: Fake News at Work

Stolitsa groupOn March 1, a supposed television report from the 1+1 channel TSN surfaced in the media, alleging a "corporate raid" by Vlada Molchanova at the Stolichny market. A link to the video was shared by several Telegram channels and websites.

1+1 media responded promptly on fake: "The video's creators attempted to replicate TSN's corporate identity (project logo, fonts, banners, intros, etc.) and the 1+1 channel logo, which is misleading to viewers. We inform you that TSN and 1+1 are in no way involved in the creation of the aforementioned video... This video is the work of scammers who exploited TSN's popular brand and reputation to achieve their own goals, which are unknown to 1+1 Media. The media group has no information about the events described in the fake report.".

As a reminder, the conflict surrounding the Stolichny market erupted in late 2020. On one side is Vlada Molchanova, head of the Kyiv headquarters of the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna," and majority shareholder Oleksandr Stelmakh, while on the other is Eduard Sokolovsky, owner of Stolitsa Group.

Also, according to some media reports, the raid on this facility involved Andrey Portnov.
