Korban and Filatov are promoting a "technical" candidate and have invited Russian political strategists.

Filatov and KorbanThe leadership of the UKROP party and people controlled by oligarch Kolomoisky, Gennady Korban and Borys Filatov, are promoting Viktor Marchenko, a technical candidate, for mayor of Dnipropetrovsk. This information was shared by political scientist Serhiy Bykov on his Facebook page.

Viktor Marchenko is known for leading the Union of Soviet Officers in early 2014, during the height of the Maidan protests. Mr. Marchenko is known for organizing rallies in support of Russia in Dnipropetrovsk and for attempting to plant a Russian flag next to the Dnipropetrovsk City Executive Committee.

Bykov notes that Korban and Filatov were actively searching for a technical candidate for the mayoral election and even offered the Communist candidate Kateryna Samoylik the position. However, Samoylik refused to cooperate with Kolomoisky's people. That's why "the choice fell on an old, trusted ally and separatist, Viktor Marchenko," Bykov noted.

The political scientist also reported that, according to his information, Marchenko, Korban, and Filatov hired Russian political strategists from the "Kulikov and Sergeytsev group" to promote their election campaign. They have already arrived at the UKROP party office in Dnipro.
