Kotvitsky transferred 40 million hryvnias abroad; the court upheld his claim.

courtThe Kyiv Court of Appeal rejected the National Bank's appeal. It was filed against the court's decision that found the NBU's fine imposed on Oschadbank illegal.

Thus, from August 14 to 28 last year, the NBU conducted an unscheduled monitoring of Oschadbank's operations. During the inspection, a violation was identified involving the denial of service to a client who provided false information. As a result, Oschadbank was fined 2,99 million hryvnias, but the bank filed a lawsuit against the NBU's decision and won.

The NBU's appeal yielded no results. It's worth noting that the violation was discovered during the transfer of $40 million to MP Ihor Kotvitsky, a "wallet" belonging to Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

Kotvitsky withdrew this money back in 2015. Before that, it was held at Sberbank of Russia. After the Revolution of Dignity, it was transferred through Oschadbank, and the National Bank released it abroad. Oschadbank, however, failed to verify the origin of the money.

It's worth noting that Kotvitskyi declared 970 million hryvnias in his 2014 asset declaration. MP Serhiy Leshchenko believes this is precisely the amount in question.

On the topic: Igor Kotvitsky. The wealthy MP, or Arsen Avakov's "wallet."
