FSK Mariupol President Oleksandr Yaroshenko gave a lengthy interview Fanday, in which, among other things, he spoke about traitors to Ukraine and "Kobzon's Money." Below is an interesting excerpt from this text, writes Ukrrudprom.
— Why are there so many “vatniks” in Shakhtar?
"They were all brought up that way; it's not their fault. Shakhtar's money at the time was coming from Russia. He who pays the piper calls the tune. All the money that was in Donetsk for this project came from Moscow. It was Kobzon's embezzled criminal money."
The man was given money that he had to pay back. That's what everything was built around, so no one fought until a certain point. And now, of course, everyone has become patriotic. But the money that flowed into SCM and Metinvest was Russian.
— But Akhmetov remained in Ukraine during the war.
"Because now he has no ties to Russia, and no one owes anyone anything. But Shakhtar is different now, too. The players there are young guys from 2002-03, who were brought up completely differently. Mudryk, for example, speaks Ukrainian. I'm not against Shakhtar or Akhmetov. I hope everyone is a patriot. The more patriotic they are of Ukraine, the closer our victory will be."
