Poltava businessman Oleksandr Pavlyuchenko, also known as crime boss Sasha Braslet, has close ties to law enforcement, according to journalist Dmytro Gnap in his blog on Ukrainska Pravda.

According to him, Petro Blazhivsky, head of the Poltava State Traffic Inspectorate, was arrested for bribery in January of this year. It was Pavlyuchenko who posted 10 million hryvnias in bail for his release.

It's also important to note that Pavlyuchenko is listed as an aide to MP Ihor Kotvitsky from the People's Front. Kotvitsky is "known" for allegedly forgetting to declare nearly a billion hryvnias and for having been personally "exonerated" by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. Kotvitsky was also previously vice president of Investor OJSC, now owned by Avakov's wife.

Furthermore, according to Gnap, Pavlyuchenko is connected to Avakov in other matters. Specifically, the businessman is linked to Angro Invest LLC, to which the Poltava Regional Council plans to transfer eight gas fields in the region without any competitive bidding. This company was previously controlled by Yanukovych associates Eduard Stavytskyi, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, and Vasyl Dzharty.

Avakov, meanwhile, is attempting to regain control of a gas condensate field in the Kharkiv region. After he became head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the process of recouping Avakov's assets, which he lost during the tenure of Viktor Yanukovych and Gennady Kernes, began.
