The Crooks are demanding half of the port business.

The situation at the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport, headed by Yuri Kruk, is identical to the situation at the Yuzhny Port, when the same Kruk was in charge. Back then, his brother, Vyacheslav, handled kickback negotiations. For example, it was Vyacheslav who negotiated with Kaufman and Granovsky for laundering budget funds through sand reclamation, and he also sold them 24 hectares that the port director, Yuri Kruk, allocated on the port territory to a family company.

At the Ilyichevsk port, all kickbacks are again channeled through Vyacheslav. But the Kruks' appetites are curious: they demand a whopping 50% of the authorized capital to open a business using the port's facilities. So, Kruk approves the lease, the investor builds, gives the Kruks a 50% stake, and then the documents are signed to begin operations.
