The smell of Poroshenko. Who bought the Channel 4 license from the traitorous MP?
Businessman Vitaly Kropachev acquired the company Korona Sunrise LLC, which owns the digital license for Channel 4, owned by MP and collaborator Alexei Kovalev (Servant of the People). Information about the change in ownership of Korona Sunrise LLC appeared in the registry on July 19 and 20, writes "Media detector".
According to data on the company's ownership changes, it was first purchased by lawyer and media owner Maksim Varlamov, who then sold it to Vitaly Kropachev through his company, Ukrdoninvest LLC.
On July 15, the State Bureau of Investigation announced the seizure of three companies belonging to collaborator Kovalev and his bank accounts, totaling 4,7 million hryvnias. Among them is the main legal entity of Channel 4, TRK Interradio. This company owns 90% of the channel's equipment and employs all its employees. Two more companies, which hold approximately 10% of the channel's equipment and working capital, were also seized: RTI Production LLC and RTI Information Agency LLC.
Meanwhile, Korona Sunrise LLC, which holds the channel's digital license, was not seized. This was because the company had been handed over to Maxim Varlamov, the former co-owner of Channel 4, for debts several weeks prior to the seizure.
Maxim Varlamov himself, in a comment to Detector Media, confirmed that he received 100% of the corporate rights in Korona Sunrise LLC on July 7, 2022 (nine days before the State Bureau of Investigation's announcement of the seizure of Kovalev's assets). He stated that he entered into an agreement with the legal entity of Channel 4, signed by its current director, Taras Borovsky. He explained that the subsequent sale of the company to Kropachev was due to "financial reasons."
Kropachev was previously called the "overseer" of the coal industry from the group of former MP Igor Kononenko (Petro Poroshenko Bloc).
After the change of power in 2019, he became interested in the media business, acquiring Info24 LLC, which holds a license for satellite broadcasting under the TVi logo, and TRK Pogoda TV LLC, which holds the Business TV channel's license for digital terrestrial broadcasting on the Zeonstroy network.
That same year, 2019, Kropachev acquired the channel "Tak TV," which held a satellite license under the name of Tak TV Center Plus LLC. In December 2021, he acquired the company "Era Production."
