A presentation of the Crimean media holding "Skif-Media" took place in Simferopol. It united the new information agency "Crimea Media" and a number of print and electronic media outlets on the peninsula.
This was reported on the website of the Simferopol mayor's office, reports DePo.
"The Crimea Media news agency intends to become one of the largest multimedia news agencies in Crimea. The agency's editorial office is located in Simferopol and has everything necessary for full-fledged information processing. A network of correspondents is being established in the regions of Crimea, as well as in the federal city of Sevastopol. This will allow for prompt receipt of information and the reproduction of an objective picture of events in real time," the statement reads.
Alexander Denisenko has been appointed the agency's editor-in-chief. Sergei Kirilenko, CEO of Skif-Media, announced that the media holding's portfolio will include a number of print and electronic media outlets published on the peninsula, as well as several of Russia's largest radio stations. A contract has already been signed with Kommersant magazine, and a contract with Komsomolskaya Pravda is in the pipeline.
At the same time, Skif-Media plans to publish more than just newspapers and magazines. "We're currently reviewing local publications, with whom we'll be negotiating soon. There are projects we're interested in, such as tourist guides and museum guides, which are in high demand right now," Kirilenko said.
As a reminder, in early September, information emerged that fugitive Ukrainian oligarch and owner of the VETEK group of companies, Sergei Kurchenko, was establishing his own news agency in Crimea, with Crimean journalist Alexander Denisenko offered the position of head of the news department.
In Ukraine, Serhiy Kurchenko owns the UMH-group media holding, which includes over 50 publications. In addition to Komsomolskaya Pravda, he also owns Arguments and Facts in Ukraine, the weeklies Korrespondent, Focus, and Telenedelya, Avtoradio, Nashe Radio, and Retro FM, the online news resources Korrespondent.net, Football.ua, and Vgorode.ua, and the online portals Bigmir.net and I.ua.
