Millionaire Lev Partskhaladze, who took over the Kyiv regional branch of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party in 2014, will be appointed first deputy chairman of the Kyiv Regional State Administration in the coming days.
As reported by a KV correspondent, Deputy Governor of the Kyiv region Oleh Korban announced this during a discussion of bribery and nepotism in government at a roundtable discussion titled "Stop Corruption in the Kyiv Region."
"The presidential administration has approved the appointment of Lev Revazovich Partskhaladze to the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv Regional State Administration," Korban said.
According to KV, Partskhaladze is an advisor to the governor of the capital region, Vladimir Shandra.
As KV previously reported, in late September 2014, Shandra fired his first deputy, Hanna Starikova (who had been appointed through a Batkivshchyna quota), citing the expiration of her employment contract. According to the official, she considers her dismissal illegitimate and is therefore challenging it in court. The next hearing in the Kyiv Regional Court of Appeals is scheduled for January 29.
KV Reference: Lev Revazovich Partskhaladze is the founder of one of Ukraine's largest development companies, "XXI Century." His primary focus is the creation, development, and management of projects in retail, office, hotel, logistics, and residential real estate. He began in the restaurant business in the 90s. His first venture, the Dynamo-Lux club, became renowned as the most popular hangout for the leading figures of the "wild nineties." He then opened establishments such as "Tsarskoe Selo," "Pervak," "Korona," and "Shvydko," as well as residential and commercial developments throughout Ukraine, hotels, suburban properties, office centers, and more.
In the early 2000s, Partskhaladze became a regular fixture on lists of Ukraine's richest people. In February 2008, Focus magazine estimated the businessman's net worth at $510 million, and his company's project portfolio at $2 billion. The Georgian-born developer ranked 53rd on the list of the 100 richest Ukrainians. A few months later, he appeared in Korrespondent magazine's ranking of Ukraine's 50 richest people, ranking 37th. The magazine estimated the fortune of the head of the "21st Century" at $580 million, noting that it had grown by $204 million over the previous year.
In 2013, Focus estimated Lev Partskhaladze’s fortune at $37,5 million (188th place in the “200 Richest People of Ukraine” rating).
Lev Revazovich is a former Kyiv City Council member since 2002. He founded the "European Capital" party. He later defected to Klitschko and even earned the reputation of being a "boxer's purse." However, during the height of the Party of Regions' rule, he defected to Serhiy Tihipko and even founded the "Strong Ukraine" faction in the Kyiv City Council.
In the Kyiv region, he first appeared under the banner of Poroshenko's "Solidarity," but maintained close contacts with the Party of Regions and, in fact, with former governor Anatoly Prysyazhnyuk.
