On October 20, the Directorate of the Deposit Guarantee Fund (DGF) made a decision and appointed a new liquidator for Imexbank. This was announced on the Fund's official website.

Yuri Severin was previously appointed liquidator, but the reasons for his removal from office were not disclosed.

The NBU initiated the liquidation of Imexbank on May 27, 2015. Imexbank was founded in 1994. As of early 2015, the bank's largest shareholder was Odesa businessman Leonid Klimov. Imexbank's assets amounted to UAH 11,379 billion, ranking 22nd among 158 Ukrainian banks.

There is information in the media that Mr. Klimov withdrew more than 7 billion hryvnias from his financial institution and left Ukraine..
