Ukraine's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced that former head of the State Investment Agency Vladislav Kaskiv has been detained in Panama.

According to the Prosecutor General, a hearing in Kaskiv's case is scheduled to take place in a Panamanian court within the next 48 hours. If Kaskiv agrees to voluntary extradition, the process will take only 30 days. If the former head of the State Agency refuses voluntary return to his homeland, Panamanian law provides 60 days for the party to defend its interests and present counterarguments to the Ukrainian authorities' materials.

Earlier, on August 18, 2016, Lutsenko's press secretary had already made a similarly loud statement about Kaskiv's arrest. However, The former head of the State Investment Agency wrote on social media that he was not detained, but invited to talk.As proof of this, he even posted a photo of himself with a fresh newspaper, which supposedly confirmed that he was free.
