Lyashko brings a lawyer convicted of large-scale financial fraud to the Rada

The 13th position on the election list of Oleh Lyashko's Radical Party of Ukraine is occupied by lawyer Andriy Artemenko, who headed the BYuT faction in the Kyiv City Council in 2006, but later, along with many of his fellow party members, defected to Chernovetsky's majority.

This is discussed in the article "Surprises on Lyashko's List. The Main Radical Brings Levochkin's People, Millionaires, and Yanukovych Officials to the Rada."
Thus, a story is circulating on the Internet about his arrest in 2002 and the initiation of four criminal cases, including on suspicion of large-scale embezzlement.
Rumor has it that Artemenko was close to the then head of the State Security Service, the notorious Igor Bakai, who appointed him to manage the Defense Ministry's football club, CSKA Kyiv. The investigative report states that Artemenko managed to embezzle approximately $4 million from a state-owned enterprise (as the football club was then) through player transfers.
Artemenko spent several years behind bars, but was released on bail by a group of "regionals" led by Mikhail Dobkin. After several years of ordeals, in 2007, all cases against Artemenko were dropped.
