Payment for the stay at the Kyiv hotel complex of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov was not made from budgetary funds, it is reported Ukrainian news.
"Based on information from the relevant structural unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we inform you that the budget estimates for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 2020, broken down by budget programs under which the Ministry of Internal Affairs is financed, did not include the purposes and expenses specified in the request and, accordingly, no payment was made," the Department of State Property and Resources of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated in a response to the publication.

"If rent for a similar hotel room were paid daily, it would cost Avakov approximately 3,900 hryvnias per day, or more than 1,4 million hryvnias per year, which is twice the minister's annual salary for 2020.
“It’s likely that a long-term lease agreement provides for a significantly lower rental cost,” Ukrainian News notes.
