The identity of Kharkiv official and city council member Maksym Museyev, who recently went on trial for corruption, is increasingly becoming more complex. Information about his possession of a weapon converted to military grade and his connections to anti-Ukrainian forces in occupied Crimea has leaked online, the publication writes. Antikor.
On January 9 of this year, Maksim Museyev wrote on his Facebook page, “It is now considered bad form to return from eastern Ukraine without a couple of grenades, a Kalashnikov, or a PM.”
This is how a Kharkiv City Council deputy and head of the Kholodnohirsk district administration commented on the news of a grenade explosion in an Odessa apartment, allegedly brought from the ATO zone by "Right Sector" members.
A commendable pacifism for a home front worker who hasn't been seen defending Ukraine. But there's a catch: Museyev himself, so far removed from the eastern front, isn't at all averse to lethal weapons. In the summer of 2016, law enforcement officers searched the home of Maxim Museyev's assistant, Natalia Stanislavovna Belous. She had been purchasing cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana from a local criminal. In addition to the magical intoxicating powders, various weapons were found on the official's right hand. Along with them, a permit for their possession and carrying in the name of Maxim Sergeyevich Museyev, issued in 2011 and expired in 2014 (which is likely why it was abandoned in the "warehouse").
The peaceful Museev had quite a lot of guns, even for a pacifist.
Moreover, security forces established that the legally purchased hunting weapon had been illegally converted into a combat weapon. Even more surprising was the substantial ammunition found in the girl's home, including packages of ammunition for military-grade automatic weapons, which, as we know, are not available in a regular gun store. Why the Kharkiv official, a supporter of peace in Donbas at any Ukrainian cost, would need such an arsenal of combat weapons this time remains anyone's guess.
Let's recall that his "pacifist" views first failed to prevent Maksym Museyev, the future head of Kharkiv's Kholodnohirsk administration, from commanding a gang of white-gloved militants in 2006. At the time, the young mayor, M. Dobkin, along with the city council's general secretary, G. Kernes, fought against the Protas brothers, who had launched a shopping center construction project. The white-gloved militants successfully and with impunity destroyed the construction site, and Museyev himself was first seen on camera as a militant leader. The young official further demonstrated his "dedication to the cause" by sending hordes of Kharkiv titushki against the Euromaidan.
Another milestone in the pacifist Museyev's militant career was his clashes with fans of the imprisoned Yulia Tymoshenko in 2011-2012. Along with other "young regionals"—G. Mykhailov, E. Krivetchenko, and R. Dobryansky—Museyev led attacks on BYuT members picketing the court hearings against Tymoshenko. The financial investigative website "Nashi Groshi" (Our Money) supplemented the information from Kharkiv journalists with new facts about the "lord" of Kharkiv's titushki. At the same time, Museyev became head of the Kharkivpass municipal transport service and firmly controlled the flow of the Kharkiv metro (not the transport services), thus fulfilling an important party mandate: supplying the militant titushki with everything they needed.
Incidentally, our time has added new and interesting nuances to the useful business of supplying the Kharkiv Metro. Companies that consistently win numerous tenders for the Ukrainian enterprise are inexplicably entangled with anti-Ukrainian forces in occupied Crimea. For example, individuals long associated with M. Museyev are also linked to Dari LLC. Since 2014, this number has also been used to call the headquarters of the Russian party "RODINA", which polite people also call the "National Front".
