The press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau reported today, December 29, that former MP Mykola Martynenko failed to appear for questioning.
According to his lawyer, who arrived for questioning in his client's place, he went for treatment due to unexpected health problems.
The lawyer was unable to provide documents confirming the former MP's illness—certificates, doctor's reports, or treatment prescriptions. He also failed to specify which clinic his client was referred to.
As a result, Martynenko was issued another summons for January 11, 2016. We remind you that if he fails to appear for questioning after receiving two summonses, investigative authorities have the right to forcibly bring the former MP to court.
Nikolai Martynenko is involved in two criminal cases and is suspected of receiving/giving bribes, embezzlement, misappropriation of property, or taking possession of property through abuse of office.
One of the criminal proceedings concerns the receipt of bribes during the purchase of equipment by Energoatom from the Czech Skoda JS. Second - the case of the Odessa Port Plant (OPP), concerning the OPP's failure to receive foreign currency earnings.
Ранее SKELET-info prepared a detailed a report on Nikolai Martynenko, which indicated the assumption that he was being "dumped".
