President Petro Poroshenko secretly awarded extraordinary ranks to Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine and Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios and Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnytsky.
As a source from the Presidential Administration noted to ZN.UA, Matios was awarded the title of State Justice Counselor of the 2nd class, and Kholodnytskyi was awarded the title of State Justice Counselor of the 3rd class.
Furthermore, it was announced that 36-year-old Deputy Prosecutor General Roman Govda, Senior Justice Advisor, has been awarded the rank of State Justice Advisor, Third Class. Yuriy Fedorov, Head of the Presidential Security Service, has also been promoted to Major General. Interestingly, Mr. Fedorov has worked in Poroshenko's security detail since the current president's tenure as head of the National Security and Defense Council. He also served as his aide during Poroshenko's tenure as a member of parliament. As a source within the Presidential Administration noted, Fedorov has already been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel twice early in the past year and a half, and for the third time, he has been promoted to Major General.
It is reported that the full list of persons who have been awarded state titles has not been published, since Decree No. 735 of the President of Ukraine is closed.
In turn, Matios and Kholodnitsky confirmed the information about the awarding of state titles to them.
Note that the rank of State Justice Counselor, Class II, corresponds to the rank of Lieutenant General. The rank of State Justice Counselor, Class III, corresponds to the rank of Major General.
