Former Acting Prosecutor General Oleh Makhnitsky did not submit the names of Dmytro Firtash, Serhiy Lyovochkin, and Yuriy Boyko for inclusion on the list of individuals subject to EU sanctions. MP Serhiy Leshchenko wrote this in his blog on UP.
According to Leshchenko, the fault for the fact that the names of Firtash and Levochkin were not included in the sanctions list lies with the acting Prosecutor General Oleg Makhnitsky (information about it: Oleg Makhnitsky: Is there a limit to the shamelessness of the former "Maidan prosecutor"?The latter compiled a list, which he handed over to Catherine Ashton, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Security and Politics. Upon receiving this list, the EU imposed sanctions on all the "Yanukovych-era figures" listed, Leshchenko noted.
According to Leshchenko, the sanctions list does not include a single name from the "RosUkrEnergo clan." The MP wrote that Acting Prosecutor General Makhnitsky was appointed to his post by the Svoboda party and with the active participation of the party's "grey cardinal," Igor Krivetsky.
"Whether this was done deliberately or not, the fact remains that oligarchs Firtash, Lyovochkin, and Boyko were spared international sanctions. And I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that some of those who compiled the sanctions list have improved their financial situation," the MP concluded.
