In his 2013 income declaration, Irpin Mayor Volodymyr Karplyuk indicated that he owned 67 apartments with a total area of over 7 square meters. According to the document, all of them were purchased in 2013 and cost almost 2,1 million hryvnias. This information was disseminated by the public movement CHESTNO, citing the Irpin mayor's income declaration.
Volodymyr Karplyuk's income declaration also indicates that he owns four more garden houses. He spent 1,18 million hryvnias on acquiring other non-residential real estate. According to his income declaration, Karplyuk deposited 4 million hryvnias into a bank account in 2013. However, the most interesting thing is that Mr. Karplyuk did not spend a single hryvnia on the maintenance of any of these properties, as evidenced by his declaration.
After analyzing income declarations, the public movement CHESTNO concluded that Karplyuk is systematically acquiring real estate and land for development specifically in the city of Bucha, near Kyiv.
It is also reported that in terms of the amount of real estate owned by the head of Irpen, Karplyuk could take first place among Ukrainian officials.
