On February 18, law enforcement officers seized the servers of Norma Plus, one of the largest internet providers in the Kotovsky settlement of Odessa. The press service of the Suvorovsky District Police Department reported this to the E-95 Highway news agency.
Police officers conducted a search of the company's office at 129 Dnepropetrovsk Road Street as part of a criminal investigation initiated under Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—"Misappropriation, embezzlement, or acquisition of property through abuse of office."
They seized the provider's equipment. The company's office was not sealed, and no one was detained.
In turn, the management of Norma Plus calls the incident a hostile takeover.
Representatives of the provider recorded a message for an answering machine in which they urge subscribers to come and support them.
"A corporate raid has taken place. The perpetrator is former deputy Vladimir Mazurenko (one of the owners of the Severny Market – ed.). Currently, the 'werewolves in uniform' of the Suvorov Police Department are seizing equipment and servers. We ask you to come to the office and help stop this lawlessness," the statement reads.
Later, information appeared on the company's website that police officers allegedly dismantled the provider's headend.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first search of the Norma Plus provider's office. Each time, it results in service interruptions. The company's subscribers have been without internet since early morning.
