The price of canned beef was 46,52 hryvnias per kilogram. The same canned goods retail for at least 56,93 hryvnias per kilogram in wholesale.
Earlier, volunteer Yuri Biryukov, an aide to the Minister of Defense for military supply, became interested in this suspiciously discounted product. He decided to inspect a facility that produces canned goods for the military. According to Biryukov, chilled carcasses of unknown origin, unmarked and unmarked, were discovered at the meat cutting area. Meat briquettes of unknown type and origin, also unmarked, were found on the floor of the workshop. It was later discovered that, by order of the Border Service Administration, the procurement of these canned goods was conducted "through a negotiated procedure." At the initiative of the aide to the Minister, the canned goods were sent to independent laboratories for analysis.
It was discovered that the company supplying the canned goods was Visit LLC. One of the owners of this LLC is Elena Berezyuk, the wife of Ruslan Berezyuk. Ruslan Berezyuk is a former member of the Party of Regions of the Belotserkovsky District Council.
The Berezyuk family previously owned Ukrprodakord OR, which became one of the founders of the Army Food Enterprises Association. Since the beginning of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), the Ministry of Defense has signed food supply contracts with this company worth UAH 50.53 million. Ukrprodakord OR was authorized to supply the Ukrainian Army with food products under former Defense Minister Mykhailo Yezhel.
