The Right Sector groups, as well as other far-right organizations that throw public officials into trash bins, are led by equally well-known figures – former head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Pashinsky, as well as the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Turchynov.
A source in the Security Service of Ukraine informed our publication of this.
According to a source with powerful patrons who are members of the same political party as current Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, none of the "garbage" thugs are currently in prison.
The only suspect that law enforcement officers were able to find in the case of the beating of Viktor Pilipishin on September 25 of this year was released by the Pechersk Court under house arrest.
The media have already reported on Serhiy Pashinsky's pronounced loyalty to the Right Sector. In March of this year, Pashinsky exceeded his authority as acting head of the Presidential Administration when he personally released from custody a Right Sector group that had carried out a shooting on Leo Tolstoy Street in Kyiv.
As a reminder, on Tuesday, September 30, Right Sector members assaulted prominent politician Nestor Shufrych in Odesa. That same day, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov announced he was taking the "case of the attack on Shufrych" under his personal control.
The minister noted that the police were unable to prevent the incident and detain the attackers because “the deputy did not warn the law enforcement officers accompanying him about the change in route.
Meanwhile, the incident occurred right on the steps of the Odesa Regional State Administration building, which is supposed to be guarded by police. Furthermore, the victim himself stated that he had notified law enforcement of the route change.
In any case, the attackers knew exactly where and when Nestor Shufrich would be.
