Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko signed an order appointing Gennadiy Pryndyuk as Head of the Department for Law Enforcement, Corruption Prevention, and Combating Corruption of the Kyiv City State Administration. In his new position, he will receive a 40% salary bonus for length of service and a 130 UAH bonus. The mayor's order to this effect was issued on November 3, 2014.
Gennady Pryndyuk is the husband of Maria Vasilievna Pryndyuk, Deputy Chair of the Kyiv Court of Appeals. This judge is known for having closed the criminal case against General Oleksiy Pukach in 2004 for the destruction of documents related to the Gongadze investigation. Media reports attribute this to Gennady Pryndyuk's close friendship with Pukach.
Maria Pryndyuk is currently presiding over the case against former Berkut head Dmytro Sadovnik. He has been unable to appear in court and is suspected of shooting 39 Euromaidan protesters.
Pryndyuk is also known for shortening the detention of former Tax Academy rector Petro Melnyk in April of this year, who managed to escape for a short time.
Let us recall that in 2010, Gennady Pryndyuk was the head of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In 2013, he was the head of the Legal Support Department of the State Migration Service.
