Observers from Opora accuse former Party of Regions MP Khomutynnik of bribing voters.

Over the course of two days, September 29-30, observers from the civil organization "Opora" recorded the distribution of food packages by People's Deputy Vitaliy Khomutynnik (until February 21, 2014, a member of the Party of Regions faction, since February 21, 2014 - a member of the Economic Development deputy group), who is running in the 171st district in Kharkiv.

Observers reported witnessing the distribution of food packages on September 29th, packaged in bags labeled "Help Your Neighbor!" According to those who received the package, it contained sugar, butter, condensed milk, buckwheat, cookies, and a postcard with the inscription, "Together We Will Win! Vitaly Khomutynnik."

Representatives of "Opora" note that on September 30, "charitable" rations were distributed to pensioners at the premises of the Frunzensky District Council of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Labor, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Kharkiv).

According to those who stood in line, "rations are distributed to veterans every year." They claim that people learn the location and time of the charity event from notices posted outside their apartment buildings.

While communicating with those present, one of the "Opora" observers was attacked by three women of retirement age, who scattered the personal documents of the "Opora" representative.

As a result, Opora activists were forced to call the police. The police team arrived and left the premises with two bags: one containing a food parcel and the other containing approximately 2,5 campaign leaflets for Vitaly Khomutynnik, a self-nominated candidate for the 171st All-Ukrainian District.

A representative of Opora also filed a complaint regarding the violation of current legislation under the article “deliberate obstruction of the lawful activities of journalists.”
