Former Right Sector speaker, now Ukrainian MP and Kyiv mayoral candidate Boryslav Bereza (Resolute Citizens party), has been revealed to be a common swindler, and the Main Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is currently investigating him for the production and use of a knowingly counterfeit document.
KV learned of this from a post by journalist Volodymyr Boyko on his Facebook page, citing criminal case No. 42015000000000972 opened on May 27, 2015, under Part 1 and Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“Previously, this symbol of the national liberation movement (who else could be the official representative of the Right Sector, who ran on behalf of this party in last year’s parliamentary elections?) bore the surname Blyakher and was an Israeli citizen. Returning to Ukraine, Blyakher changed his last name, but did not renounce Israeli citizenship, realizing that he would need it in case he had to hide from criminal prosecution,” writes Boyko.
According to the journalist, this case seems to have arrived. The judge of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv gave permission to the investigator of the Prosecutor General's Office to access documents stored at the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Kyiv National University. Taras Shevchenko. Boyko claims that we are talking about verifying the authenticity of a higher education diploma, which Bereza provided to the Verkhovna Rada Office.
"According to available information," writes Volodymyr Boyko, "in criminal case No. 42015000000000972, it was established that Ukrainian MP Boryslav Bereza is using a counterfeit diploma, series LT VE No. 503758, dated June 30, 2000, certifying his graduation with honors from the Kyiv National University of Economics. However, Shokin is in no hurry to submit a motion to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to approve Bereza's criminal prosecution. Instead, the Presidential Administration is using this fact to blackmail Bereza in order to gain enough votes from MPs to amend the Constitution of Ukraine regarding granting special status to the occupied territories."
Boryslav Bereza is currently also running for Kyiv mayor as a candidate for the Resolute Citizens party. According to available information, his 2014 election campaign in Troyeshchyna was overseen by Ihor Shuvalov, a longtime advisor to Serhiy Lyovochkin, former head of the presidential administration under Viktor Yanukovych.
