The National Commission made this decision due to the stock exchange's failure to address a number of violations since its license was suspended. The National Commission also found evidence of fraudulent activity in the UMFB's actions.

The Ukrainian International Stock Exchange was founded in 1999. Its founders include 24 legal entities: Ukrainian stock market operators and leading commercial banks. Trading turnover on the Ukrainian International Stock Exchange has decreased by 10,4 times since 2014, and at the end of 2014, it ranked 9th among 10 stock exchanges operating in Ukraine.
