On the eve of bankruptcy, top management fled Khreshchatyk Bank.

Khreshchatyk BankOn April 5, 2016, the NBU declared Kyiv-based Khreshchatyk Bank insolvent, and the Deposit Guarantee Fund appointed a temporary administration to the financial institution.

The Business Center publication reports that on the eve of the bank's bankruptcy declaration, Oleksiy Berezhnoy, director of the financial monitoring department, and Viktor Padalka, a member of the supervisory board and a representative of the Kyiv City State Administration's shareholder, resigned.

It is known that Mr. Berezhnoy had held this position at Khreshchatyk Bank since November 27, 2015. Padalka, in turn, had held this position since April 5, 2014. Both managers resigned from the Kyiv financial institution voluntarily.

According to the National Bank, as of the beginning of 2016, the owners of Khreshchatyk Bank were Andriy Ivanov (37,44% of shares), the Kyiv City State Administration (25%), and Austrian resident Mykola Soldatenko (24,24%).

In terms of assets as of October 1, 2015, Khreshchatyk Bank ranked 18th among 123 operating Ukrainian banks.
