Ukrzaliznytsia will purchase parts worth 160 million hryvnias from the company of MP Bohdan Dubnevych.
As journalist Denis Bigus reported on the program "Nashi Groshi," the company of the chairman of the current parliament's transport committee, Dubnevych, has become a monopoly on the supply of spare parts for Ukrzaliznytsia.
Yaroslav and Bohdan Dubnevych's company, through a lawsuit, eliminated the only competitor to their company, "Ekspozitsia," from participating in tenders for Ukrzaliznytsia. This gave the brothers' company a monopoly on the supply of steel clamps for fastening rails.
Only two companies in Ukraine produce such fasteners. One is the KRT corporation, owned by the Dubnevych brothers. The other is the Kyiv-based company AO Mekhanika. Ukrzaliznytsia regularly holds tenders and purchases these parts not from manufacturers, but from intermediaries.
This year, the direct manufacturer, JSC Mekhanika, attempted to participate in the tender itself. According to director Vitaliy Rudenko, his company had been following the tender announcement and was eagerly awaiting it. However, it turned out that the tender had already taken place and all the protocols had been compiled. It turned out that Ukrzaliznytsia had ordered these clamps through a tender with a different name, which was intended to purchase rubber products.
This year, an order worth 160 million was received by the company "Exposure", associated with the Dubnevichs.
As a reminder, according to his 2013 tax declaration published on the Chestno website, Bohdan Dubnevych earned UAH 2,270,000 last year (of which UAH 1,535,000 came from gifts, prizes, and winnings). His wife and son have acquired houses and apartments over the past two years, totaling 6755 square meters.
The newly-minted businessman-deputy's total assets include nine apartments totaling 1074,3 square meters, nine houses totaling 2865 square meters, and one garage totaling 13,9 square meters. He also owns seven plots of land totaling 98,4 hectares, other real estate totaling 525,7 square meters, and three GAZ-21 Volga passenger cars, manufactured in 1960, 1963, and 1967.
