MP Golubov accused Saakashvili of racketeering.

SaakashviliPeople's Deputy Dmitry Golubov, speaking on the television program "People. Hard Talk," claimed that Odessa Oblast Governor Mikheil Saakashvili had begun engaging in racketeering in Odessa.
According to the MP, a number of large enterprises and businessmen are receiving letters asking for "an opportunity to provide charitable assistance in the amount of 2,5 million hryvnias."

The MP claimed to have evidence to support his claims and promised to make it public. He also noted that almost all major businessmen in the city are forced to pay. Those who refuse are visited by "a Georgian prosecutor and a Georgian police officer."

Saakashvili has not yet commented on this statement, but it should be noted that Golubov himself has a rather turbulent past and a colorful biography as an international-class swindler..
