Current Ukrainian MP Ihor Skosar admitted to paying a $6 million bribe for a place on the electoral list in the previous parliamentary elections. He made this statement on the ZIK television channel on Wednesday, October 8, according to reports. ORD.
According to him, he paid this sum to Mykola Martynenko, a member of the People's Front party. In the 2012 elections, Skosar won a seat in parliament on the United Opposition list, using the Front for Change quota.
When asked by a journalist whether current Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov were present when these funds were transferred, Skosar replied, "No," but noted that the politicians were present at the preliminary meeting where the amount of the "contribution" was agreed upon.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian MP Oles Doniy explained on a television program that the sale of mandates is due to the parties needing money for elections.
At the time of publication of the message, there was no reaction from the Prosecutor General's Office to Skosar's scandalous statement.
