MPs are skipping work en masse and don't want to work. Are they planning on introducing a punitive system?

I'm lying emptylyOn September 21, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy ordered a list of MPs who were absent from the session and/or did not vote to be published in the Golos Ukrainy newspaper and on the parliament's website. It turns out that attendance was disappointingly low: approximately 90 participants "skipped" the session, and just over 80 did not vote. Those who failed to attend the Verkhovna Rada can also be safely classified as truants; thus, more than 150 MPs (out of over 400) failed to fulfill their duties.

Observers claim this is common practice: a significant number of elected officials attend barely half of their sessions, and they don't participate in every one. Unfortunately, the law lacks penalties for absenteeism and sabotage, so disclosing attendance records on state media is practically the only way to influence the situation. However, Parubiy did not specify whether he plans to make this "action" a regular occurrence in the future.
