The Prosecutor General's Office denies that it is conducting an internal investigation into Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaly Kasko (Read more about it in the article Vitaly Kasko – a swindler, a corrupt official, a "shot-down pilot"). This information was disseminated by the department's press service.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported that no investigation has been conducted and is not being conducted against Deputy Prosecutor Kasko, as previously reported by MP Sergei Leshchenko.
The Prosecutor General's Office, for its part, reported that the investigation was being conducted at the request of MP Tatyana Chornovol. In her appeal, Chornovol alleged Kasko's unlawful actions in the case of former Minister Zlochevsky: Kasko allegedly disseminated information to the UK that Zlochevsky was not wanted, which helped the former minister withdraw €27 million from London and block the return of approximately $80 million belonging to oligarch Kurchenko from Lithuania to Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General's Office also reported that an investigation is being conducted into a complaint filed by MP Krivenko, in which the MP accused Kasko of violating criminal proceedings in the case of the former head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Tishchenko.
