MPs Nestor Shufrych, Vyacheslav Konstantinovsky, and Oleksandr Suprunenko deny the allegations spread by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko regarding their tax evasion. The members of parliament made these comments in response to Lutsenko's accusations, who announced his intention to submit a motion to the Verkhovna Rada to lift the MPs' immunity.
Shufrych stated that he declared 40 million hryvnias in income last year, on which taxes were paid. The MP noted that if his lawyers and accountants miscalculated his income and underpaid taxes, he is prepared to pay the remainder.
Konstantinovsky, for his part, wrote on Facebook that immediately after completing the e-declaration, he contacted the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) with a request to verify the tax document. Afterward, at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Combating Corruption, he distributed to all members a document confirming his income and payment of all taxes.
MP Suprunenko reported that he was not subject to any inspection by the State Fiscal Service and that tax authorities had no complaints about his income declaration.
